Discipline &concentration are like the embankments which control and direct the flood waters of a river into harmless and fruitful channels. You are engaged in Sadhana and the inquiry into the Self and, in this great task, these two will be of great help! Be it worship or walking or sitting or eating, everything should be done in a disciplined way. Then your life will become exemplary and you will be jovial & happy. Happiness commence with you - not with your relationships, not with your job, not with your money, but with you. To improve the golden moment of opportunity and be happy & catch the good that is within our reach, is a great art of life. If you think you are big, you become small. If you know you are nothing, you become unlimited. That’s the beauty of being a human being. Just because an experience has gone a particular way a thousand times is no reason it will go that way again. Every situation is a new opportunity. Everything is in motion all at once. Yet all too often you rely on a static, unchanging map to navigate through it all. That leads you to make assumptions that have very little basis in current reality. Of course you don’t have time to think all the way through every decision, so you must make certain assumptions. Yet you must also keep in mind that some assumptions could be holding you back. Don’t keep telling yourself you can’t when in fact you can. Look closely and see all the possibilities you have been hiding behind your assumptions. If you wait for the ideal situation, it will never come. If you create the ideal situation, it will always be, when ever you choose for it to be. There are plenty of excuses you can make for why this is not the time to act. And while you are busy making those excuses, someone else is busy taking those same actions that you are merely considering. The time is right when you make it right. Waiting and hoping for things to get better will just allow things to get worse. You can spend your time marching steadily towards your goals. If we fail at one thing, we should do it again and again, hoping to succeed someday
